This is a digital study for an upcoming Jazz piece. I sketched each figure out separately and then grouped them. I'll be rendering this on Strathmore's 500 Series Charcoal Paper.

Initial sketch for new jazz piece: For my son Michael.

Revised sketch for new jazz piece entitled: Jazz Quintet. But I'm toying with the title: Jammin For Gibby.

Progress on sketch: Refining the lines before transfer to clean paper.

Added a few more elements to round the piece out.

I’m a little slower with this one. My work is mood-controlled so to speak; but it’s coming along.

The figures on top were obviously too big to pull off the perspective, so I have to reduce their scale.

I decided to redo the backdrop and open up the space up a bit. Once I hone the shadows, I'll put the people in.

Still have a way to go. No title as of yet. Part of ‘The Room’ series.

I needed more shapes in the foreground to give the picture scale. I wanted the ‘giant hall effect’ like the St. Peter’s Basilica, but I wanted to add my own touches.

I want the floor/room to go back forever; it kept bothering me so I changed it.

Made a slight alteration to the right side of the piece to open the room up a bit.

Current Work: Portrait of my Granddaughter Breanna

My Source: I plan to do three views of her. Love her round face.

May need to resize the profile by adjusting her features a bit, but there ya go.

I had to reposition the third head. I’m still debating whether to render her eyes or not.

She wanted to fix her hair before she posed for me. I told her that I would take care of her hair.

My camera seems to be tinting the white pigment blue. Still have a long way to go.

I still have much to do on her image. Her facial proportions have been difficult to pin down.
